Between the years of 1973 and 1977 the classic lineup of Lynyrd Skynyrd defined the Southern Rock genre, leaving a legacy of songs ingrained in the American consciousness, including Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme Three Steps, Simple Man and the iconic anthem Free Bird.

Lone Star Skynyrd from Dallas, Texas, evokes the dynamic vocals and presence of Ronnie Van Zant, the finely interwoven trio of guitars, and the sweet female harmonies in the glory days of the 1970s Lynyrd Skynyrd concert experience. The band counts among its many fans current Lynyrd Skynyrd vocalist Johnny Van Zant and original Skynyrd guitar tech and plane crash survivor Craig Reed who calls Lone Star Skynyrd "Impressive".
